Testnets and faucets
A sandbox organization can use every active testnet; a live organization can use every active mainnet. Network and token lists in the dashboard, on the pay page and in the API follow the organization's mode. GET /api/v1/payments/networks?testnet=true lists testnets only, and ?testnet=false lists mainnets only.
These testnets are always available in the sandbox:
| Testnet | Faucet USDC |
|---|---|
| Arbitrum Sepolia | yes |
| Base Sepolia | yes |
| Ethereum Sepolia | yes |
| Solana Devnet | yes |
| Bitcoin testnet4 | — (pay in test BTC) |

All faucets per network (USDC and gas for EVM, SOL, and test BTC) are listed in Testnet faucets for the OrcaRail sandbox.
- USDC: Circle faucet. Pick the testnet and paste your wallet address.
- Gas: use the faucet of the chain you pay on (for example a Sepolia ETH faucet).
You don't need any tokens if you simulate the payment instead.
Rules
- A sandbox can't use a mainnet, and a live organization can't use a testnet. The API returns
400 NETWORK_MODE_MISMATCH. - A payer on a sandbox payment can only choose testnets, and on a live payment only mainnets.
- USD values in a sandbox are test values: testnet stablecoins count as $1.
