List of Crypto Payment Gateways (2026): 10 Providers Compared
This is a list of the main crypto payment gateways in 2026, compared on what matters when you integrate one: fees, recurring billing, custody, and stablecoin support.
Disclosure: OrcaRail publishes this blog and is one of the gateways listed. Every competitor figure below comes from the provider's own pricing page or documentation, checked on 13 October 2026, with a link to the source. Pricing changes, so confirm with the provider before you decide.
Quick comparison
| Gateway | Published fee (standard tier) | Recurring billing | Model |

| Coinbase Commerce | 1% | Not documented | Hosted |
| BitPay | 2% + $0.25 (lower at higher volume) | Invoice-based | Hosted, settles to fiat or crypto |
| NOWPayments | From 0.5% (1% with conversion) | Yes: recurring invoices | Hosted |
| CoinGate | 1% | Scheduled invoices | Hosted |

Network (gas) fees are extra on every gateway, and who pays them depends on the provider and your settings.
How to choose
- Selling subscriptions? Choose between gateways that send an invoice every cycle, where the customer pays each one by hand, and gateways that charge automatically from an approval the customer signs once. Automatic charging keeps churn lower. On-chain, this works through an ERC-20 allowance on EVM chains or an SPL token delegation on Solana. Why we chose allowance pulls.
- Fee at your volume. A flat percentage is easy to model. Fixed per-invoice fees, like BitPay's $0.25, weigh heavily on small payments.
- Custody and settlement. Some gateways hold your funds and pay out in fiat. Others send stablecoins straight to a wallet you control.
- Stablecoins and chains. Check that the tokens your customers hold (USDC, USDT) are accepted on the networks they use.
- Testing. A testnet sandbox lets you exercise the whole flow, including webhooks and renewals, without real money.
OrcaRail
OrcaRail is a developer-first API for stablecoin checkout and subscriptions on EVM chains and Solana.
- Fee: 0.5% per completed transaction on the hosted platform, and the first 1,000 transactions are free. Self-hosted OrcaRail has no OrcaRail fee. See pricing.
- Recurring billing: two collection methods. A payment link per cycle, or on-chain auto-charge that pulls each renewal from an ERC-20 allowance (EVM) or SPL delegation (Solana). See subscriptions.
- Custody: non-custodial by default. Payments settle to withdrawal addresses you control.
- Developer tooling: REST API, signed webhooks, Node and PHP SDKs, a Laravel Cashier package, a WooCommerce plugin, and an MCP server for AI coding agents.
- Testing: free sandbox organizations on testnets with
ak_test_keys.
Coinbase Commerce
Coinbase Commerce is Coinbase's merchant checkout.
